Golden Girl: Dorothy Perkins Gold Skinny Jeans Review

Hi fellow fashion/art lovers, hope you all are having a fab week. I just wanted to do a quick post showing my latest purchase from Dorothy Perkins. I fell in LOVE with these jeans the moment I saw them on the site. I literally had them ordered about 60seconds after clicking on the link. :)

Now I have several pairs of jeans from Dorothy Perkins, and I have always found they fit true to size for the most part. (I find the jeggings run a little big). So I bought my normal size 18UK, which is like a large 14US. These jeans unfortunately seem to run just a little small, and they aren't very stretchy. I think the stretch factor has more to do with the coating then the actual fabric.

Gold Jeans: Dorothy Perkins  (18UK)
T-shirt: Asos (L)
Jacket: Forever 21+ (1X) - similar here

Pros:
  •  Ummm yah they're gold. :) A pretty soft pearl gold
  • Quality is quite nice for the price
  • Lightweight but not flimsy, good transition for fall
  • Fairly inexpensive...but got to watch for duty.
Cons:
  • Length, inseam is only 31", fine for the cute little shorties of the world, not so much for the amazons. I folded them over, and I might add something to the cuff area.
  • Smaller fit, order up
  • Shows EVERYTHING...gotta watch what you wear under them.

Just being silly.
I have been debating on sending them back and trying a size 20UK, but I was dinged $27 in duty so I think I'll make due. You'll have to pardon the hair, lack of make-up this is post workout. I'll do another post in September with the jeans. They will fit better soon anyways since I am working out more and toning up. More on that later.

Shoes from Torrid, not current but are my favs.

Sunny side up! OOTD

Good Day lovelies, and happy Friday! I don't mean to brag but I've actually been on holidays since Wednesday so Tuesday was my Friday. :) I've had a bit of a "staycation" for the past couple of days. Wednesday was a me day, I slept in (until 7:30am! Yay!), lazied around the house, then I was off to do a little shopping downtown, and to visit the Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA). It's such a wonderful new space, such great lines and light. Definitely world class space in a small package. More about that on a later post. This is just a quick OOTD, from my relaxing Wednesday. I actually got out my tripod and took some real shots (I feel like such a grown up) in the VERY bright morning sun. Should have worn sunglasses...I really do have eyes under all my squinting. :)
Fixing my hair mid-shot. :) Oops. I love this skirt, but it's taken me forever to
actually wear it. I decided to go a little casual but I think it works OK. Asos has some
amazing belts out right now, for fat girls and skinny alike, check it out! Free shipping too.
Business in the back, party in the front Mullet Skirt: Ruche (1XL) (not available)
Best Cami ever: City Chic (S)
Chambray shirt: Old Navy (XL)
Awesome spiked belt: Asos Curve (UK20/22)
Flats: Coconuts via Beyond the Rack (10)
Total dork right there. :) Least the weeds grass was freshly mowed, the
fence needs a paint job though.
Just a close up of the belt <3 Brackets from Ruche and Stella and Dot

Good Grapes!

Before the LOS and the polish
Hi lovelies! Just wanted to share what's new from my jewelry table. Well more like jewelry mess, seems like every time I make something it ends up looking like a tornado went thru my studio. :) My latest piece is a bracelet with hand made wire wrapped links, that I patina'ed with some liver of sulphur and tumbled for an antique look. I added some beautiful amethyst roundels (they're like round beads that have been flattened just a little), and smaller "olive" jade round beads. The focal is a glass bead made by moi. The glass is by Creation is Messy, the color is Thai Purple, and the accent glass is by BellaDonna, the color is called Honey Glaze. The BellaDonna is a high silver glass, and it supposed to do some pretty cool things in the flame, but I couldn't get much out of it. I'll have to play around with it more.
Finished Piece - very happy with it.
Close up of the bead

Needed a little inspiration so I picked this magazine up from Chapters, lots of great ideas.

Going for GOLD!

Well with the Olympics over, I'll admit I'm missing that thrill of watching the athletes strive to be the best. I love the moment after they win, the emotion is so strong and inspiring. For fall I am love love loving the gold trend. I also made it a goal to wear funkier pants. I tend to go with plain black or grey for the office, and jeans for casual pants. So I am going to kick things up a notch. :)I ordered these gold jeans from Dorothy Perkins last week and now I am awaiting there arrival. Generally it takes about 5-7 days from the UK, and this is day 5 so I am stalking the mail man starting today. :)

Dorothy Perkins Super Skinny Gold Coated Jeans

Asos Curve Gold Foil Dress - love this little dress, maybe with some
tights and boots for when the weather gets chilly.

Wrap Dress is Embellished Cuffs - this dress would be perfection
if it was 3" longer. Asos had this in the "straight" sizes in Ivory which I ordered
but sent back because it was too short. Maybe I'm just too old, or just too tall
but I like my cooch to be covered. :)

Mad about python?

Top: Penningtons (X)
Bottoms: Love & Legends by Addition Elle (14)
Shoes: Target (10)
Necklace: H + M
Good evening/day lovely humans and others. Hope you all are having a fab weekend. My sister and I were out shopping when I spotted these python print jeans at Addition Elle. I actually brushed them off at first, and we left the store, and continued to the next stop, but just couldn't stop thinking about them though so I had to go back and try them on.

It was LOVE.

They are SHORT (but probably perfect for 90% of the population), I have a 35" inseam, and theses are about a 32". So for me they will be an ankle pant, and I'm OK with that. When the cooler Fall weather rolls around I will wear them with boots and a sweater, they will transition well.

If you're looking at getting these, they do fit big. I got a 14, and there is a still a little extra room. Definitely size down. They are a light weight denim, so just something to keep in mind.

I finally got my tripod out and was playing around outside when some storm clouds rolled in. Inside photos will have to do for tonight. I was in kind of a silly mood, maybe it is the pants, or maybe it was the pint of apricot ale. :)
View of the back...my ass making these look gooood.
Love this necklace from H+M
Little bit of color.
