Cold enough for yah?

Yes it's MINUS 38, and yes it is cold enough for me. :) Serious, just today I think I was asked the question 5 times. Funny thing is, on the rare occasion that we hit a +35 in the summer, we Canadians will ask "Hot enough for you?" It's a love/hate thing I have with our society. (On a side note, for me +35 is just about right, I love HOT)

It has been pretty chilly this week, and when the weather gets cold it kind of brings me down. (See note about me loving hot weather) So my creativity tends to go out the window. To help beat the cold though I bought these AWESOME thick OTK socks...OK I bought these ones and 3 other pairs. They are in heavy wardrobe rotation this week. They are from Sock Dreams. I'm fairly tall (5'11) and have pretty long legs (35" inseam) and these over the knee socks actually go up quite a bit further, which is VERY impressive. I'm also a size 14/16 so my legs aren't skinny and my feet are a size 10. These are actually a little big in the foot area. So if you have a bigger foot, go for it, these puppies are for you. Plus shipping is CHEAP and fast.

So hurray for these OTK socks..."For keeping your legs warm on days you just don't want the hassle of wearing pants".

I wear them under my dress pants for when I'm at work, with dresses/skirts, over top of tights (cause they look great with boots), and here I'm wearing them with shorts (from Lulu). The shorts are just for loungin' around the house.

Next post I will have an OOTD featuring a score from my boxing day shopping at Talbots.com.

Peace out!

Countdown is on....bring on Seattle.

49 days until my trip to Seattle. :)  Saying 50 days makes it sound so far away. Let's go with 7 weeks instead.

I'm just going to put it out there, I love Seattle. It's so laid back, people are nice, shopping is fantastic, and the art scene is amazing. My first visit was 2 years ago, I went and took a glass fusing class at Pratt Fire Arts Centre.
Speaking of the arts scene, the Seattle Museum of Art (SAM) is hosting "Gauguin and Polynesia: An Elusive Paradise". I'm really excited, Gauguin is one of my favorite post-impressionist painters. I've already got my ticket. :) His painting are so colorful and full of life. Each one tells and story and shows it soul.
Maybe my excitement is what's fueling this obsession with bright bold colors I've been having? Probably. I do find it pretty inspiring. :) I will be sure and share a post after the trip.

I was doing so good...but I am now off the wagon.

Well I had been doing so good, I haven't shopped (for clothing) since boxing day. So that's 2 week...which for me is pretty good. Yes yes I may have a problem! A problem that my closest is too small *zing*

Tonight though, I saw that Ruche had added a couple new items to their curvy selection. As many of you know I have a WEAKNESS for Ruche <3 and tonight I gave in. I made this pretty little top mine. I am really in love with this color, it's so vibrant and fresh. Ruche generally ships quite fast so I will probably have it early next week, so you can bet I'll be letting you know all about it. Maybe even an OOTD, I'm trying to be a good little blogger and get some photos.

I'm also a little in love with these shoes. Don't worry, T and I have an understanding when it comes to my love of shoes. Shoe love is purely superficial. :) These puppies are from ASOS (one of my fav online retailers), I love the color, pattern, and texture. This spring will be all about those 3 things.
I am participating in the 5 day "dress up" challenge thru the Life and Style of Jessica Kane blog. Basically it's helping me NOT just throw on jeans and a sweater in the morning. It is one of my resolutions this year to put a little more planning into my work wear, even if it is 6am. Normally I save my best for the weekends, but I'm working on changing that.

I'm also working on some OOTDs, but I don't have a photographer so I need to go get a tripod this weekend. :) Cheers everyone, have a great night.

Color! Colour! Couleurs! Boja! Kleur!

Doesn't matter how you say it...I love color!
For many years I was all about black...I don't know if it was just me being a morose teenager/young adult or if it was more because I was just afraid and need the safety net of black, either way I AM OVER IT!

This shoe is probably my favorite color. I love this shade of blue. It reminds me of...can you guess? The sea? Why yes, yes it does. I'm such a Pisces sometimes. :)
Extra bonus points for pointy toe. I am do glad the point is back! I know it's wasn't what all the cool kids were wearing, but I've always loved them...even if in secret...in the back of my closet. haha who am I kidding...I've never been the cool kid so what do I care?

Another thing I am LUSTING over is this dress from the Australian's @ Damn you Alexis (great name right?). I love this washed abstract print and the leather strap. Hopefully once spring rolls around here, there will be one of these babies left. If I could be truly lucky it might be on sale, but I won't hold my breath. http://www.damnyoualexis.com.au/shop/item/down-the-way-gown-print

Be sure and check out some of the other pieces on the site, if I could I would get almost every single piece. I've never ordered anything from Damn You Alexis...but when I do there will be an OOTD...oh yes there will! :P http://www.damnyoualexis.com.au/shop/item/down-the-way-gown-print

Fashion Back to the Future!

Call Doc Brown and Fire up the DeLorean! That was cheesy! No it's cool. Fashion is on another trip back to the past!

Tonight I was scouring the web tonight (when I should be ironing), looking for some spring time inspiration. It's a little premature since here in Alberta we haven't even really seen winter...yet, but I couldn't resist. There are so many lovely pieces out there for spring, and I am LOVING the influence of the first half of the 1900's. It's really hard to pin down a decade because there seem to be bits and pieces from the late 20's, and 30's and 40's. I love the square shoulders and cinched waisted, and the drapey fabrics.

Check out Charlotte Taylor SS12! http://vimeo.com/28922506 I'm in love with that wasp (or firefly?) pattern, and that figure pattern in the silver dress. Love.

Dolce & Gabbana have lots of fun with their SS12... http://www.dolcegabbana.com/dg/fashion-show/woman/video_runway I love the aubergine pattern...onions not so sure of. :) Although I've always had a hate on for onions.

Tell me, would you hit the town or beach in onion print hot pants?

Anyways, I better do some ironing so I have something to wear tomorrow, and maybe something for an OOTD. Cheers!

Happy 2012!

Wow, it feels kind of good to be back into the blog world again. (OK, I had some blogger problems, but it's not excuse). I don't know why I waited so long to get back into it. I have admitted before, and those who read my old blog will remember me commenting, that I'm not much of a writer. I'm going to TRY and make that a thing of the past...2012 I am going to write. If any of you out there are fans of the The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron then you'll understand the importance of writing for an artist, even if the chosen art isn't the written words

So what's in a name? Well T is for my BF...and  A is for me....and RT to finish off ART. :)  I decided to include the BF since I plan on getting him involved...he just doesn't know it yet.

This spring I am also going to be working on a new art project. Well it's kind of an art project, more of a people project. More details will come in the next few months.

I hope everyone has a really great end to 2011, and I hope 2012 is amazing.
